The collection includes music, clippings, programs, correspondence, photographs, legal documents, promotional materials, awards, digital media, artwork and realia documenting the professional and personal life of jazz pianist and composer Andrew Hill.
This collection contains 613 double-sided pages listing different arrangements of specific songs. The resource list includes the composer, arranger, publisher, key, medium, and whether the full score or parts exist. Where applicable, the resource also indicates the location of the music for each arrangement. A separate document details the codes in the resource for each collecting institution and their contact information.
This collection contains full scores and other notated music. Featuring Rangelov's original music, the collection also includes songs by Irene Reid, George Gershwin, Grady Tate, and Wayne Andre.
The Ann Sperry Papers span the period 1908 to 2008, with the bulk of materials dating from 1970 to 2000. They comprise approximately 19.5 cubic feet (14 record center cartons and 11 phase boxes), and the materials primarily relate to her professional work as an artist. Document types include correspondence, photographs, slides, magazine, cassettes, sketchbooks, and art materials. Also included are personal materials such as journals and children’s drawings.
The Annie Ross Collection contains printed music, various publicity materials, photographs, correspondence, business and personal files, documenting her life and career as a performing artist.
The collection includes music, clippings, programs, correspondence, photographs, business documents, awards, and artifacts about the life of works of Arturo “Chico” O’Farrill (1921-2001), composer, arranger, conductor, and trumpeter.
This collection contains ephemera from jazz clubs, circa 1950-1980. These items include mailers, flyers, programs, and post cards. The clubs were mainly New York City based and include The Cookery, Jimmy Ryan's, and Eddie Condon's. There are also clubs in Boston, Massachusetts such as the Savoy Club and a few clubs in New Jersey and Long Island. Also included is a 1963 Nina Simone Carnegie Hall concert flyer.
This collection is made up of twenty-one audiocassette interviews with Barney Bigard, possibly related to his autobiography, which Barry Martyn edited. The interview topics include Bigard's life, jazz career, race, and philosophy.
